GUADALAJARA – José Saturnino Cardozo, former coach of Chivas and historical player of Toluca, expressed his annoyance for the penalty in favor of which Guadalajara was marked by a push inside the Devils area, a penalty that the whistling Oscar Macías took after reviewing the play against the VAR.
“Regrettable the VAR gentlemen,” wrote in his social networks who was a Toluca player between 1995 and 2005, in addition to being technical director of the Chivas between Apertura 2018 and Clausura 2019.
Alexis Canelo pushed Hiram Mier into the scarlet area, a situation that the referee did not notice in the first instance, until he was informed by the VAR to review the play and after seeing it on the screen he decided to score a penalty, which Eduardo López marked and meant 2-1 for the tapatíos.
