President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited the SpaceX Stargate Building in Boca Chica, United States. During the visit, Jokowi chatted casually with Mr Elon Musk.
The visit was carried out on Saturday (14/5/2022). The moment of this visit was uploaded to the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube account. Jokowi, wearing a white shirt and black pants combined with sneakers as footwear, was accompanied by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of Indonesia Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
Jokowi was greeted directly by Elon Musk. Jokowi and his entourage immediately entered the room.
Jokowi and Elon Musk chatted casually. Next, Jokowi toured the SpaceX rocket production facility accompanied by Elon Musk.
Elon Musk explains the sides of the SpaceX rocket to Jokowi. The rocket is said to have a length of 50 meters and a diameter of nine meters.
“This is the hind wing and then the front wing is way up there, and it’s 50 meters long and nine meters in diameter,” said Elon Musk.
Meanwhile, Jokowi said his visit this time was to discuss cooperation. Some of the collaborations are related to investment and technology.
“This follows up on my order to the coordinating minister for investment to talk with Elon, about investment, about technology, about innovation and now I’m here to meet directly with Elon to discuss future collaborations,” said Jokowi.
