TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Statement by the Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto who mentioned President Joko Widodo or Jokowi must meet the branch before going to Megawati Soekarnoputri received reactions from a number of Jokowi volunteers.
Secretary General of Pro-Jokowi Volunteers (Projo) Handoko said there was no need for political conditions. Meanwhile, General Chair Jokowi Mania (Joman) Immanuel Ebenezer said that Hasto needed to be re-cadre.

Projo: There is no need for political conditions
Secretary General Projo Handoko responded to Hasto PDIP’s statement which said Jokowi had to meet PDIP branch (sub-district level) administrators before visiting Megawati. According to him, there is no need for political conditions in President Jokowi’s meeting with Megawati.
Handoko explained that the friendship between the two, especially in the month of Shawwal, is part of the cultural wisdom of the archipelago. According to him, visiting each other in a friendly manner has become the identity of the Indonesian nation.
“The affairs of the nation and state are not always about politics. “There’s no need to use conditions,” he said in a release on Saturday, April 13 2024.
According to Handoko, friendship only requires good intentions and sincerity. “There is no need for political conditions that will only hurt the people’s day,” he said.
Handoko said that Indonesian people cannot accept excessive actions in anything.
He claimed that President Jokowi is a statesman who understands the hearts of the people. The essence of the meeting of these figures, he said, was to approach and understand the hearts of the people.
“Rejecting friendship makes people ilfil (lose feeling),” said Handoko.
