Jokowi Talks about Spike in COVID-19 Cases Now in the Thousands

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) warns all parties to remain vigilant in the midst of a situation of uncertainty engulfing the world. Jokowi as an example of the COVID-19 case which is now rising again.

“We have not recovered from COVID, COVID is still there. 2 weeks ago we were still at 200-300 daily cases, in the last 5 days it has risen again to 1,200,” said Jokowi while delivering remarks at the opening ceremony of the PMKRI Congress. as seen virtual, Wednesday (22/6/2022).

Jokowi said the world is also currently faced with an abnormal situation due to the war between Russia and Ukraine. In fact, Jokowi said, the economic recovery due to the COVID-19 pandemic has not yet been fully completed.

“Food prices in all countries have increased, energy prices in all countries have increased. Inflation has increased in all countries,” said Jokowi.

As is known, cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia have increased again in the past week. Today, the new cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia have crossed the 1,985 cases.

June 22: 1985 cases
June 21: 1,678 cases
June 20: 1,180 cases
June 19: 1,167 cases
June 18: 1,264 cases
June 17: 1,220 cases
June 16: 1,173 cases
