President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) posted a photo of taking the extraordinary train to Kyiv, Ukraine. Jokowi asking for prayers for this peace mission to be facilitated.
It was delivered Jokowi in the @jokowi Instagram account as seen on Wednesday (29/6/2022). Jokowi stated that this mission of peace began with good intentions.
“From platform 4 of Przemysl Glowny Station in the city of Przemysl, Poland, at nine o’clock in the evening, me and a limited group of people took the train to Kyiv, Ukraine,” Jokowi wrote.
“We started this peace mission with good intentions. Hopefully it will be facilitated,” continued Jokowi.
To note, the extraordinary train used by Jokowi is also used by leaders of other countries when visiting Ukraine. The extraordinary train was prepared by the Ukrainian government.
Jokowi and the group are expected to arrive in Kyiev, the capital of Ukraine on Wednesday local time. Also accompanying Jokowi and Iriana were Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
In his previous press statement, Jokowi also conveyed the peace mission between Ukraine and Russia. Jokowi encourages dialogue space.
“After Germany, I will visit Ukraine and will meet with President Zelensky. His mission is to invite the President of Ukraine, President Zelensky, to open a space for dialogue in the context of peace, to build peace, because war must be stopped and also related to the food supply chain. must be reactivated,” said Jokowi in a press statement, Sunday (26/6).
Furthermore, Jokowi will also head to Russia to meet with President Vladimir Putin. On that occasion, Jokowi will ask Putin to stop the war.
“Once again, with the same mission, I will invite President Putin to open a space for dialogue and as soon as possible to carry out a ceasefire and stop the war,” Jokowi added.
