Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) opened his voice about his meeting with the general chairman of NasDem Surya Palo at the Palace recently. Jokowi revealed that there was nothing special about the meeting.
“It’s normal,” Jokowi told journalists at Sarinah, Central Jakarta, Sunday (29/1/2023).
The former mayor of Solo was asked whether the meeting was related to the issue of a cabinet reshuffle that had arisen. But Jokowi was reluctant to talk further.
“Just want to know,” said Jokowi.
As is known, Surya Paloh suddenly met Jokowi at the State Palace on Thursday (26/1) afternoon. The NasDem Party also opened its voice regarding the meeting.
The news about the meeting between Surya Paloh and Jokowi was initially conveyed by the General Treasurer of the NasDem Party, Ahmad Sahroni. He said the meeting between the two had a positive meaning.
“Yes (Surya Paloh met Jokowi), I heard yesterday afternoon,” said Sahroni when confirmed, Friday (27/1/2023).
Deputy Chairman of Commission III DPR RI said the meeting was held suddenly. The meeting took place at the State Palace.
“Suddenly (the meeting) was at the Palace,” he said.
Sahroni admitted that he did not know the contents of the conversation between the two. However, he said the meeting was positive.
“I don’t know yet, my feeling must be positive because I have been summoned,” he said.
He also called the meeting a sign that there were no problems between Surya Paloh and Jokowi.
“Proof that Mr. Surya and Mr. President are in a good relationship,” he said.
