The CSD as a date

Christopher Street Day is considered an unofficial holiday for the rights of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and trans people. It goes back to the so-called Stonewall Riots, in which the community around Christopher Street in New York fought against police violence on June 28, 1969.

Since 1979 the day has also been celebrated in Germany with parades. Jochen Schropp’s Outing in 2018 by letter to the press led to many positive comments.
