Just one day after saying goodbye to Jochen Fallmann to Austria Vienna, the second division football club SKU Amstetten presented the new head coach on Friday. Former team player Joachim Standfest becomes the Mostviertel’s new coach.

At the fifth of the table in the last second division season, the reaction to successful coach Jochen Fallmann, who left the club in the direction of Vienna after one and a half years, and became a member of Peter Stöger’s team of supervisors.
Fallmann’s good work in Amstetten is to continue steadfastly from now on. The 40-year-old Styrian was presented on Friday in the Ertl-Glas Stadium by SKU chairman Harald Vetter. For Standfest, it is the first stop as the Bundesliga head coach. Previously, he worked as a coach for the amateurs of SK Sturm Graz and also as a coach for the Sturm professionals (picture above). His last stop was until February of this year Flyeralarm Admira, where Standfest was Kotrainer by Klaus Schmidt.
Steadfast: “A big challenge for me”
Steadfast: “I would like to thank you for your trust. It is not a matter of course that as a young coach I get such a chance. In the first talks, both sides noticed that this could be a good fit. It’s a big challenge for me because the second division is a big challenge for both the players and a coach. Amstetten presented itself well in the spring and I am pleased that I can be part of this association. For me, my first job as head coach is the next step in my development in professional football. “
In his active career Standfest played for the GAK, Wiener Austria, Sturm Graz, Kapfenberg and Wolfsberg. He was Austrian champion with both traditional Styrian clubs (2004 with the GAK and 2011 with Sturm) and a total of five Austrian Cup winners. Standfest played 34 games for Austria’s national team, scoring two goals.
