JK Rowling suggested fans boycotting Hogwarts Legacy should burn Harry Potter books and films at the same time

Some Western fans of “Harry Potter” continue the war on Twitter against the writer JK Rowling. This time it was Jessie Earl, the host of the YouTube channel. Jessie Kind and a journalist, in March who wrote Gamespot article stating that the game should be boycotted Hogwarts Legacy because of Rowling’s words about transgender people.

The other day, he echoed this statement on Twitter:

I don’t break anyone’s love for past works or what they already own, which calms them down. I myself have the first 9 movies and all 7 books. But any support for something like this Hogwarts Legacy precious.

Rowling herself drew attention to this message. The writer ironically ridiculed this method of protest:

Deeply disappointed that Jessie Earle does not understand that purity of mind is incompatible with possession of ANY thing in any form related to me. Truly righteous people will burn not only their books and movies, but the local library, anything with an owl on it, and even their pet dogs.

The negative attitude towards the writer appeared after her statements about transgender people in 2020. In particular, Rowling ridiculed the proposal to refer to women as “people who have periods.” Subsequently, the writer was accused of transphobia. But that’s not all: Warner Bros. did not invite Rowling to film a special episode for the 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter film franchise. And when the writer was threatened with murder on Twitter, the management of the social network did not notice any violations in this.

Hogwarts Legacy Coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series on February 10th, PS4 and Xbox One on April 4th and Nintendo Switch on July 25th. JK Rowling has nothing to do with the development of the game other than the fact that she created the Harry Potter universe.
