A resident of Valletta (54) claims to be the victim of medical negligence at Jeetoo Hospital. On August 19, she was admitted to the orthopedic department for surgery on her right foot. Except that when she woke up, she noticed that it was her left foot that had been treated. She didn’t say anything at the time, thinking she had misunderstood.
During an appointment a few days after her discharge, she asked for explanations from a doctor, who could not answer her. The 50-year-old reported the case to the hospital superintendent, but she is still awaiting an explanation. Eventually, she decided to file a complaint with the police station at Jeetoo Hospital. She also intends to seek the services of a lawyer to decide what to do next.
