Jared Leto is what could be classified as a method actor and therefore during his time in the original Suicide Squad, alongside Margot Robbie, Viola Davis and Will Smith, is said to have resorted to some controversial alternatives. Supposedly to enter fully into the psychology of the Joker, he played practical jokes in the set and it was even heard a long time ago about the corpse of a rat inside a box as part of a gloomy gift. All this now denied by the actor of Blade Runner 2049.
In light of his recent applauded participation in the film The Little Things, Jared Leto has become the center of the media. And that is why in various interviews some very curious statements have emerged from him. First it was about his lost Oscar Award and now about details about his work on the set of Suicide Squad.
In the David Ayer-directed film, Leto played the Gotham City crime clown. And how could it be otherwise sidekick par excellence was a Harley Quinn in a state of grace, played by Margot Robbie. When talking about said role, the actor denied that he had ever given Robbie a dead rat, as previously stated.
‘I never gave a dead rat to Margot Robbie. That is simply not true, “he said. “What I gave him is true, is that I found a place in Toronto that had these vegan cinnamon rolls and that did become a regular habit.”
Leto insisted that playing the Joker is an incredible opportunity for any actor. He also confessed that he had to keep separate from the rest of the cast, because his character works in the same way with respect to the suicide team that eventually ends up becoming a dysfunctional family.
Putting yourself in the Joker’s shoes is an incredible opportunity. It’s like this generation’s modern version of taking on an infamous, Shakespearean character, ”he said. “A lot of people have played the role before and a lot of people will do it after, so it really is the offering of doing something new and exploring challenging territory.
Jared Leto is about to explore new territory and show it to the world upon his return to paper for the new Justice League. The new version of the 2017 fiasco at the hands of Zack Snyder will have the infamous clown back, in an even more maniacal and uncontrolled version that David Ayer presented to us.
