Jalisco urges López-Gatell to guarantee permission to purchase evidence for COVID-19

The Governor of Jalisco clarified that the massive application of rapid tests for the detection of coronavirus she was frustrated because they could not enter the country, as they were not certified by the Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks (Coffepris).

“I don’t want to think that what López-Gatell is doing is taking care of statistics”

The state president indicated that he disagrees with the refusal of the federal government, to the application of massive tests and asked to be notified of what type of tests are recommended and with which supplier they can be purchased.

“I do not want to think that what (the undersecretary of Health) López-Gatell is doing is taking care of statistics, because it would be an act of treason to the homeland,” he added.

The governor agreed yesterday with the federal government that within a period not exceeding 72 hours there will be a formal response regarding the application of rapid tests as a preventive measure in the face of the health contingency due to COVID-19.

Regarding the issue, the president also denied that Hisa Pharmaceutical had a history of irregular purchases in Tamaulipas, and mentioned that no advance payment was made for the tests that would be acquired from said distributor.

“It is a serious company and they simply could not enter the customs tests because they did not have the Cofepris certification,” he said.
