Expected at the cinema in the spring 2025, the project supported by the Jackson clan is releasing its first scenes this Monday, January 22.

“Touched and honored” to play his uncle
“The journey starts on Monday”writes Jaafar Jackson in the caption when Michael Jackson’s official account assures him, the young man “is ready”. It must be said that the pressure must be significant for the son of Jermaine Jackson, chosen after a worldwide search to play his uncle in a film which will retrace the life of the singer, from his beginnings with the Jackson 5 to his death in 2009 at the age of 50.
Born in 1996, Jaafar Jackson only spoke once about the project, when his casting was announced last year. “Touched and honored” to play Michael Jackson, the young man will reunite with director Antoine Fuqua (Training Dayto the saga Equalizer) for the first takes of this film expected in theaters in spring 2025.
His title ? Michael, quite simply. Written by John Logan (Gladiator, Heavy rain), the biopic is produced hand in hand with the co-executors of the star’s estate. A first synopsis revealed by Variety promises to“offering audiences a thrilling and honest portrait of the brilliant, yet complicated man who became the King of Pop”.
