There was more than good news at the Great Old. If Dieumerci Mbokani has signed a contract with Antwerp, this is not the case with Arslanagic who joined La Gantoise.
Arslanagic’s departure was not a surprise, as Ivan Leko explained at a press conference. “Dino expressed his initial attentions from the start and I did not take into account that he would remain.”
The exodus continues on the Antwerp side, despite the arrivals of Butez, Verstraete, Boya and the extension of Mbokani. “I still need four to five new players. I have already lost six to seven starters: Bolat, Defour, Hoedt, Arslanagic, Mirallas and Lamkel Zé,” said the Croatian coach.
Luciano D’Onofrio will have more work to do to properly complete the core of Antwerp. But Leko is not worried: “Our core will be complete as quickly as possible. I know that our leaders like to do business at the end of the transfer window,” he concluded.
