The “Dalida” project trotted 5 years in the head and in the heart of Orlando before seeing the light of day. It was, first, contacted by a producer American wanting to do a biopic on Dalida. Immediately he accepted and signed the contract.

3 years have passed and this producer still hasn’t found the right people. The contract was, therefore, broken.
This was where the producer, Julien Madon, came in. He introduced Lisa Azuelos to Dalida’s brother. A talented director, the latter was able to seduce Orlando with her screenplay retracing Dalida’s childhood, her professional career, her love life until she ended her life.
To refine his screenplay, Orlando engaged himself as co-scriptwriter and made personal archives of the deceased available to him.

With a budget of 15 million, the filming of the film began on February 8, 2016 in France and continued in Italy, Morocco before ending on April 22, 2016. This feature film was released in 2017.
WHO IS DALIDA?
The choice of the interpreter of the main character of this film was carried over to another actress before falling on Sveva Alviti. Which is completely normal, because finding a suitable person to play Dalida is almost impossible.
In 2012, at TVMag, Nadia Farès announced to have been chosen to play the role Dalida in a biopic on the life of the French singer. An assertion confirmed by Lisa Azuelos, a few years later, during the promotion of the feature film. She, however, added, on PurePeople, that Nadia Farès has been discarded of the project and that it has been replaced by another.

The director had to undergo 4 months of audition before falling on Sveva Alviti. Little known to film fans, the Italian model looks a lot like Dalida. Moreover, she knew how to interpret, with accuracy, the song “I am sick” of the singer.
This is how the young woman landed the role. However, to be perfect, she had to take intensive French lessons, wear a wig, prosthetic nose and teeth.
ORLANDO AND DALIDA
Dalida has had great success in her singing career. A success that she owes, in part, to her producer and little brother, Bruno Gigliotti, known to everyone as Bruno.
