Argentina, as the winner of the America’s Cup 2021, e Italy, champion of the Eurocup 2020, they will face each other in June 2022 in a continental duel which will have two other editions with winners of both competitions, Conmebol reported on September 28, 2021.
The highest body of South American football made the announcement within the framework of the agreement it reached with the UEFA for the expansion of their cooperation, which includes the dispute of that meeting, with headquarters to be decided.
The agreement currently covers three editions of that match between the winners of Copa América and Eurocopa, as well as “the opening of a joint office in London that will be in charge of coordinating projects of common interest,” Conmebol said in a statement.
Conmebol added that the agreement also focuses on strengthening women’s soccer, futsal and training categories, and also on the exchange of referees and technical training programs.
