Italy records 727 deaths in 24 hours

Italy recorded an additional 727 deaths in 24 hours due to the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus. In total, 13,155 people have died in the country due to the covid-19 disease.

According to the latest assessment made this Wednesday by the Italian Civil Protection, the total number of confirmed cases rose to 110,574, 4,782 more than on Tuesday.

In a fight against time, the Government of Giuseppe Conte takes more measures to face the pandemic.

The Rome Executive has approved a sum of 50 million euros to support the production of medical supplies and personal protective equipment. The objective is that the country will be, in two months, self-sufficient in the production of masks against the covid-19.

Although the number of infections appears to be slowing, the country’s authorities want the Italians to remain at home, extending the national quarantine until April 13.

Pope Francis is preparing to celebrate an unprecedented Easter. This year, there will be no faithful in St. Peter’s Square or in Holy Week celebrations, which will be chaired by the Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church behind closed doors.
