Japan

The police are still investigating the case of a man who stole a charity box in Jepara Regency, Central Java, which was caught on CCTV and left a heartwarming letter to the mosque manager. It turned out that the value of the money in the charity box was around one hundred thousand.

“After the incident, we went directly to the TKP (the crime scene) to confirm by coordinating with the village and mosque administrators, but at that time and until now the mosque and mosque administrators did not want to report the incident, because the loss was small,” said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Resort Police. Jepara, AKP Fachrur Rozi when contacted by detikcom via short message, Sunday (12/26/2021).

“The contents of the box (approximately) Rp. 150 thousand,” he continued.

Rozi said the village and mosque management did not report it to the police because the evidence was considered small. However, he said, the theft turned out to be viral on social media.

“The mosque manager doesn’t know that it has gone viral on social media,” explained Rozi.

Even so, the police will still look for the man who was caught on CCTV stealing the money from the charity box at the Baitur Roham Mosque, Demangan Village, Tahunan District, last Thursday (16/12). Rozi also appealed to the public to keep the charity box in a safe place.

“Apart from that, all of us from the police will continue to investigate this matter to suppress small crimes from developing into large ones so that they can disturb the community later,” he explained.

“We also urge the charity box to be stored in the mosque to anticipate things that are not wanted,” said Rozi.

Previously reported, a charity box thief in Jepara Regency, Central Java was caught on CCTV. The thief was moved by the death of a letter to the mosque manager.
