jpnn.com, JAKARTA – National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has disabled Inspector General Ferdy Sambo from the position of head of the National Police’s Profession and Security Division (Kadiv Propam) starting Monday (18/7).
The decision was announced directly by Police chief General Listyo Sigit at the National Police Headquarters, Monday night.
“Inspector General of Police Ferdy Sambo, his position has been temporarily disabled,” said the National Police Chief.
The former Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police also mentioned that the position of the Head of the Propam Police Division will be carried out by the Deputy Chief of Police, Komjen Gatot Eddy Pramono.
General Listyo explained that the decision was taken to maintain objectivity, transparency and accountability in the investigation into the shootout at home Inspector General Ferdy Sambo which killed Brigadier J.
“So that the series of investigation processes that are currently being carried out can really be carried out properly and make this incident clear,” said Listyo Sigit.
Before the press conference ended, reporters asked General Listyo whether the deactivation of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo was the decision of the national police chief or was there a recommendation from the joint team?
Responding to the statement, Listyo Sigit stated that he was observing the existing developments, including speculations that developing would have an impact on the ongoing process.
