“It is painful for a female leader to allow a foreigner to come and offend the President”

“It is regrettable that a political party not only allows but also promotes the systematic erosion of our democratic institutions,” claimed the UDI deputy.

This Saturday, the founding member of Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, he interviewed the deputy Camila vallejo (PC), in the context of a talk show that the parliamentary has been carrying out a few weeks ago.

In the instance, Waters referred to what happened during 2009 when he visited Chile, and spoke with the then president Sebastián Piñera, who would have told him something that was not true about the student protests. “During that visit, I went to speak with Piñera, who – strangely – was President as he is today. I remember doing a radio interview where I told people how He sat in the Palace and lied to my face (…) “He talked to me about ‘police violence’ towards the students and said ‘I want you to know this: there were 1,300 incidents of injuries in the student demonstrations and 1,100 of them were against the policemen ‘”, Waters recounted.

In addition, he repeated his well-known phrase: “all rats smell the same, and Piñera is a rat ”, stressed the artist.

In this regard, the UDI parliamentarian Maria Jose Hoffmann expressed his annoyance at the singer’s statements, maintaining that “It is painful for a Chilean leader to allow a foreigner to come and offend the President of the Republic without reproaching him.”

“The CP is not content with having two of its militants daily insulting the figure of President Piñera,” said the rightist, referring to Mayor Daniel Jadue and his counterpart Hugo Gutiérrez, “now it is Congresswoman Vallejo who it joins these same practices, remaining undaunted by the insults of a foreigner to the highest authority of our country ”.

“It is regrettable that a political party not only allows but also promotes the systematic erosion of our democratic institutions ”, Hoffmann concluded.
