The Sofia City Court has remanded in custody Atanas Sokolov, accused of recklessly killing his girlfriend Maria Kokilova. This was announced by the press center of the court.
The court ruled that it could be reasonably assumed that he was the perpetrator of the act, as there were many witnesses who claimed that they had seen Kokilova bruised on other occasions and that she had explained that Sokolov was beating her.

The autopsy showed that the victim died as a result of a craniocerebral trauma, broken ribs and injuries to the limbs.
In its ruling, the court stated that there was a danger that the accused would commit another crime, because, although he was rehabilitated, all three of his previous illegal acts were related to alcohol abuse.

The ruling can be appealed to the SAS on April 20.
