Israel’s Offensive in Gaza: Hospitals Overwhelmed, Death Toll Rises

JERUSALEM ∙ The Israeli army has expanded its offensive to more areas in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, where heavy fighting continues. As more hospitals were invaded by the army, Nasr Hospital was the only recourse for the injured. Due to the intensity of the firing, the dead bodies cannot go to the cemetery and are being buried in the hospital premises. The hospital authorities said that 40 people were buried in this way. The video of the hospital wards crowded with injured people including children has come out.

190 Palestinians were killed in early Monday morning bombings by Israel in Khan Yunis. 340 people were injured. Many people were trapped under the debris of the collapsed buildings. So far, 25,295 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in Israeli attacks. 63,000 people were injured.

Israeli forces entered Al Mawazi district west of Khan Yunis and captured Al Khayr Hospital. The employees were arrested. The Palestine Red Crescent Society said tanks surrounded Al Amal hospital. This hospital is the headquarters of the Red Crescent. Ambulance service also stopped.

The Israeli army launched a heavy offensive to capture Khan Younis last week. Israel accuses Hamas of having a new headquarters here. The army has been instructed to shoot Kandatulan. Those who fled have now sought refuge in Rafah south of Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah in the north.

Meanwhile, relatives of the hostages staged a sit-in in protest at a parliamentary committee meeting in Jerusalem. European Union (EU) foreign ministers have stated that the creation of a Palestinian state is essential for peace in the Middle East.
