Israeli Prime Minister Directs Security Forces to Restore Order in Tel Aviv After Riots

Al-Marsad Newspaper – Agencies: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directed to send huge forces to restore order in Tel Aviv, after the riots and vandalism that took place in the city today, Saturday, during which 100 people were injured.

The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that Netanyahu “received an update from the Minister of National Security and the Police Commissioner regarding the disturbances, and ordered the necessary measures to be taken to restore public order.”

For its part, the Tel Aviv municipality called on residents to stay in their homes until the demonstrations end.

Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv reported that 12 of those injured in the riots by Eritrean asylum seekers in the city were suffering from serious injuries, while 26 other wounded were receiving treatment at the same hospital, including police, whose conditions ranged from mild to moderate.

Violent confrontations broke out today, Saturday, between Israeli security forces and hundreds of Eritrean asylum seekers in Tel Aviv.
