In Israel, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted senior Israeli officers as saying that “a new equation must be created vis-à-vis Hezbollah.” According to the equation, the Israeli army announces that it “will cease fire for 48 hours, but after the first shell that falls on our lands, especially if it is fired in the direction of a civilian target, it will lead to severe bombardment that will lead to the destruction of southern Lebanon.”
