Israeli doctor Boris Bril denied the most popular myths about COVID-19, which are common among the population in Russia and other countries. In particular, the physician drew attention to the erroneous diagnosis.

Coronavirus is a systemic disease that affects the lungs,” he said. – But it is fundamentally wrong to consider it pneumonia. The lethal outcome occurs from acute respiratory distress syndrome and cytokine storm, as well as from thrombosis. It has nothing to do with pneumonia.

The expert explained that if a person is diagnosed with pneumonia, then further therapy is also carried out according to a similar diagnosis.

“But such a line is fundamentally wrong,” he said.

However, he added that it is wrong to prescribe antibiotics as preventive drugs.

“The severity of the disease is also influenced by saturation and the number of respiratory movements in the form of fever,” he added.

According to the specialist, a slight degree of saturation is expressed in such a state of a person when he is conscious and understands what is happening around.

– All therapy for such a condition comes down to the fact that you need to drink as much as possible, use paracetamol and aspirin, or – ibuprofen, – he added. – Performing breathing exercises will not interfere.

The expert stressed that before prescribing antibiotics, you need to check the patient for the presence of leukocytosis processes.

Formerly LIVE24 reported that the myths about the methods of transmission of coronavirus were denied by Dr. Myasnikov. In his Telegram channel, he wrote that COVID-19 cannot be transmitted to humans from pets. “They may have the coronavirus, but they cannot be transmitted from them to humans!” Myasnikov explained.
