Israel Defense Forces Chief: Gaza War to Last for Months, More Soldiers Killed

Tel Aviv: Israel Defense Forces (IDF) chief Herzi Halevi said the Gaza war would last for months. He said the military operation would be expanded further in southern and central Gaza and that Hamas fighters in northern Gaza had been largely eliminated.

Meanwhile, the IDF announced that three more Israeli soldiers were killed in the ground battle with Hamas. Their names have been released. Israel lost six soldiers today alone. With this, the total number of soldiers killed in the ground war has reached 161. The IDF also reported that one soldier was seriously wounded in northern Gaza. Herzi Halevi said that many Hamas terrorists and commanders had been killed and that they were facing their most complicated war yet.

‘He came back from Cape Gaza a little while ago. He met with the soldiers of the northern region. I am very satisfied with the fighting spirit and actions of the troops and the achievement of the objective we have set. “The IDF has almost reached the goal of completely eliminating Hamas in northern Gaza,” Halevi said at a press conference in Israel.

Many surrendered. Hundreds were imprisoned. He also stated that many tunnels and weapons were destroyed. We focus more on the southern areas of Gaza, Khan Yunis and the central areas. A return to the pre-October 7 situation will never be allowed again. The Air Force is constantly attacking. The ground forces are destroying Hamas’ systems that the air force cannot. He added that this war is inevitable and achieving the goal is not easy and complicated.

Therefore, the war will last for months. Halevi said there are no magic tricks or short cuts to completely destroy a terrorist organization and it requires a determined fight.
