Isola dei Famosi, Iva Zanicchi leaves the studio with a swollen hand: I want to go home

It sounds incredible, but this year atIsland of the Famous really everything is to be expected. A particularly unfortunate edition considering the number of competitors who left the game due to illness, accidents or unexpected bad news that forced them to return to Italy. But the withdrawal of a columnist from the firm was certainly not expected. Yet having to go home before the end of the episode is Iva Zanicchi, showing an unexpectedly red and swollen hand to the audience at home: “I want to go home”.

What happened to Iva Zanicchi

Back from advertising, Ilary Blasi hto communicate unexpected news to the public: “Since we do not miss anything … what happened today Iva?”, he asks, passing the word directly to the columnist. Shocked and dazed, Iva Zanicchi shows the cameras a very red and swollen hand: “Well nothing I wanted an 18 year old hand, I got stung by a wasp … this is the 80 year old one instead, do you see the difference?”. And in fact the difference is noticeable, the left hand is much more deflated. Apparently, therefore, Zanicchi would have been stung by a wasp, it is not clear when this happened. Probably the hand swelled only in the evening, when the program had started and so the presenter had to undergo medical checks and, under the advice of the production, leave the studio.

Iva Zanicchi returns to the Island of the Famous on Monday 10 May

“Since I also have a little fever, I want to go home”, admits the ailing columnist. “It’s nothing, in fact good evening everyone”, reassures, “But the doctor said I could jump into the emergency room. If it’s not too late I’ll be back later, otherwise I’ll see you Monday.” However, it is Ilary Blasi herself who dismisses her with a “see you on Monday”, therefore it seems clear that, also for a matter of timing, Zanicchi will return to the studio only next week. And so, accompanied under the arm of Tommaso Zorzi, the columnist leaves the studio.
