Isapres: Medical College and former ministers focus on universal plan and public-private collaboration | radiogram-biobiotv

The Government ruled out not making efforts to address the crisis in the private health system and maintained that the isapres must collaborate in the search for solutions.

The Medical College and former Health Ministers prepared proposals to address the situation in the sector, where a universal health plan with comprehensive coverage stands out.

Last week the Association of Isapres withdrew from the work table that it had with the Government, accusing a lack of concrete measures to stop the crisis and delay in determining how the Supreme Court ruling will be applied, on the table of factors.

The Executive maintained that the dialogue is still open so that there is a public-private collaboration in the search for solutions and ruled out not making efforts to address the crisis of the system.

The Minister of Finance, Mario Marcel, indicated that it is also up to the isapres to collaborate.

Today the Medical College met with former Health Ministers from various administrations, to develop proposals to address the crisis in the sector, which include a universal health plan with comprehensive coverage, strengthening the public-private integration of providers and creating compensation mechanisms for risk among users.

The president of the Medical Association, Patricio Meza, maintained that the crisis must be resolved urgently, but without giving room for errors.

The former Minister of Health of the Sebastián Piñera administration, Jaime Mañalich, delved into the proposal to create a universal health plan.

In addition, this Friday the Ministry of Health will meet with the Health Commissions of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, to jointly explore legislative alternatives that allow users to be protected, in the event of a possible collapse of the isapres.
