A man in his thirties is still in police custody. He is suspected of having stabbed his wife and stepson (May 9, 2020) in the Acajou neighborhood in Lamentin. According to neighbors, the shortage of water is not unrelated to this loss of self-control.
During the night of May 8 to 9, 2020, a marital dispute degenerated into a family (a couple and 4 children). A soldier in his thirties is losing control of his nerves. He grabbed a cutlass, struck and hurt his wife in the face and head, in particular.
In the street, the assailant pursues his young 13-year-old stepson to a neighbor’s house. The man is unleashed and seems to resent the adolescent.
“I have blood in every room of my house. My door is broken. (…) It is very impressive”, testifies Michel, the neighbor.
The raging man continues on his way in the district. He was eventually overpowered by other brave neighbors.
The husband went to fetch water every day.

For more than a month, this residence in the Acajou district (Lamentin) has been without water. The exasperation is at its height against those responsible for the distribution of drinking water. What could be at the origin of this family drama.
“The lady was exhausted with her 4 children. The husband went to fetch water every day. (…) I want to draw the attention of all of Martinique to this water problem “, says a neighbor.
The man is in police custody pending his appearance before an investigating judge. The woman and her son are hospitalized in a condition which would not cause concern.
