An outbreak of COVID-19 was registered at the Home for the Elderly in Yambol. Seven people fell ill – five users over the age of 80 and two nurses, said at a briefing the director of the Regional Health Inspectorate (RHI) Dr. Radostina Kalcheva.
According to her, the epidemic occurred because three of the infected elderly people and one of the nurses had not been vaccinated. One of the users of the home was admitted to the hospital, and the others were treated in isolated premises in a social institution.
Currently, health authorities are continuing to test for coronavirus in about 200 people at home – staff and consumers. 75 percent of the employees and 56 percent of those accommodated in a social institution have been immunized, said the director of RHI.
The two-week morbidity in Yambol district continues to decrease and to date is 389 per 100 thousand people. There are 432 active carriers of the infection, of which 40 are hospitalized.
592 people have been quarantined, including six school classes and a group in a kindergarten, according to the Health Inspectorate.
