US President Donald Trump appeared to confirm on Monday that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was alive, claiming to know his health and wishing him “good luck”.
“I hope he’s well,” said Donald Trump at a press conference in the White House gardens. “I can’t tell you exactly. Yes, I have a very good idea (how he’s doing, editor’s note), but I can’t talk about it now. I just wish him luck.”
The president said the media would “probably” have information on the subject “in the not too distant future”.
News of Kim Jong Un’s health has multiplied since his noticeable absence at the celebrations of the birth of his grandfather, founder of the regime, on April 15.
Minimizing the rumors, South Korea’s special adviser to national security Moon Jae-in said Kim Jong Un was “alive and well”.
