Iran executes 4 people accused of being spies for the Mossad

Tehran

Authority Iran executed four people accused of working for the intelligence services Israel, Mossad. Three other people were sentenced to long prison terms in the same case.

As reported Associated pressMonday (5/12/2022), news agency IRNA reported that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced the arrest of a number of people linked to the Mossad. He said those arrested had criminal records and had been tried on charges of violating national security.

Iran and Israel are bitter enemies, with Tehran occasionally announcing the detention of people accused of spying for foreign countries, including the United States (US) and Israel. Tehran does not recognize Israel and supports armed anti-Israel groups in its region, such as Hezbollah and Hamas.

News agency reports IRNA alleged members of the spy ring have been stealing and destroying private and public property, as well as kidnapping and interrogating people. It was also alleged that the spy possessed weapons and received a salary from the Mossad in cryptocurrency. Iranian authorities have not provided evidence for her allegations.

But the news agency IRNA identified four people who executed such as Hossein Ordoukhanzadeh, Shahin Imani Mahmoudabadi, Milad Ashrafi and Manouchehr Shahbandi. They were arrested and sentenced to death last June on charges of “collaborating with Israel in intelligence”.

Three other people who were part of the spy group’s network, but whose identities have not been identified, were sentenced to between 5 and 10 years in prison.

Iran’s Revolutionary Courts routinely hand down death sentences, though it’s unclear which court sentenced the four men accused of spying for Israel in June.
