Prime Minister candidate Prof. Gabrovski accepted GERB mandate to form cabinet – Politics – Bulgaria – NOVA News

President Rumen Radev handed the first exploratory mandate to form a government to candidate for prime minister Nikolay Gabrovski, nominated by the largest parliamentary group of the 48th National Assembly, that of the GERB-SDS.

“Dear Mr. Gabrovski, I am handing you an exploratory mandate to form a government. I expect that within 7 days you will propose a composition of the Cabinet of Ministers that meets the high expectations of the public in terms of stability, competence and accountability,” said Radev.

“For me it is a duty and a matter of honor to make every effort for Bulgaria to have a functioning government. I will make every effort to offer an office away from political speeches and closer to expertise,” said Prof. Gabrovski, who is a neurosurgeon working in Pirogov.

He added that GERB will seek dialogue with all parties to form a government. “The idea is to completely change the political tone. We will try not to cut, but to untangle the knot of Bulgarian politics,” said Prof. Gabrovski.

In his words, we need to put an end to the political crisis into which our country has fallen. a new tone in politics,” she declared.

To form a cabinet, GERB will rely on experts far from party structures.

“So far everyone has appreciated my being consensual and dialogical, which I hope will help me in talks with other political forces. I’m used to working as a team, in difficult conditions. I’ve shown that I can take on responsibilities,” concluded Gabrovski.

Dr. Gabrovski graduated from Academy of Medicine – Sofia in 1996. Initially, he worked as a doctor in the Department of Neuroresuscitation of “Tsaritsa Joanna” UMBAL. Since 1997 he has been working at the Neurosurgical Clinic of the Pirogov Hospital. In 2005, Dr. Gabrovski defended his thesis on the topic “Significance of the posterior connecting artery for neurosurgical practice”. He has been the head of the neuro-oncology department since 2006. Since 2008 he is Associate Professor of Neurosurgery. In 2010 he was elected Vice President of the Bulgarian Society of Neurosurgery.

In 2011, he was elected head of the neurosurgical clinic of the Pirogov University Hospital. At the beginning of 2011 he was appointed National Consultant in Neurosurgery of the Ministry of Health.

In 2014 he was elected “Professor” of neurosurgery at the Neurosurgery Clinic of the Pirogov University Hospital. Prof. Gabrovski specialized several times in France, Belgium, Germany.
