Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Security forces Iran arrested a number of people suspected of being involved murder nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

According to the Chief Secretary of the Iranian Parliament, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, information about the arrests was presented on Tuesday (8/12) yesterday. However, he did not specify the number of people arrested by the authorities.

“The perpetrators of the murder, some have been identified, have been arrested by the security forces and will not be able to escape punishment,” Amir-Abdollahian said in an interview with a television station. Al Alam quoted by Iran’s semi-official news agency, ISNA, and Al Monitor, Wednesday (9/12).

Fakhrizadeh was killed while traveling in a vehicle outside the capital Tehran on November 27. At that time he was escorted by eleven aides.

According to the Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, said Fakhrizadeh was killed with a special machine gun that is controlled remotely guided by a satellite system.

According to Fadavi, the machine gun was aimed directly at Fakhrizadeh’s face and fired 13 shots.

Iran accuses Israel and the Iranian People’s Mujahidin (MEK) group of masterminding the attack. Iran’s state television station, Press TV, said the authorities found Israeli-made weapons at the scene.

“How can the Zionists (Israel) do this alone without the help of, for example, US intelligence? They definitely can’t do it,” said Amir-Abdollahian.

Israel has so far remained silent on the incident. However, the US government said the operation to assassinate Fakhrizadeh was carried out by the Israeli Intelligence Service (Mossad).

Iran vows to avenge Fakhrizadeh’s death. However, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said they would remain patient and not fall into the trap.
