IPhone 12 Pro is faster than Samsung Galaxy S21 in this speed test

A few weeks ago we started the year 2021, and as usual, Android started to receive new versions of its most famous device families. For example, one of the most recent was the renewal of the Samsung S series, the new Galaxy S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra, whose cameras, specifications and durability have already been put to the test.

The new Samsung phones have two of the most powerful chips on the market: the Snapdragon 888 or the Exynos 2100. Depending on the region we are in, Samsung phones will have one or the other. Still, the two are really competitive options… but can they handle the latest A14 Bionic in the iPhone 12?

Last year, Apple introduced the A14 Bionic chip for the new iPhone 12 and iPad Air. With it, and like other companies, like Samsung itself, have done this year, they’ve made the leap to 5nm. Thanks to this change, it is possible to reach a new level of power and efficiency thanks to the possibility of integrating a greater number of transistors in the same space.

The Snapdragon 888 also uses this lithography, so you can reap the benefits of this manufacturing process. With that in mind, PhoneBuff has put to the test a Galaxy S21 Ultra with the Snapdragon 888 chip, and they compared it to an iPhone 12 Pro with the A14 Bionic. And the results continue to show that Apple continues to lead the way in chip development.

Through the use of different apps and games, which take advantage of chips with different levels of intensity, they were able to put the two terminals face to face. These types of tests are generally more convenient than benchmarks because present day-to-day scenarios. Basically, different scenarios are presented in a sequence, which is then repeated a second time to verify multitasking.

In this case, the iPhone 12 Pro reaches a time of about 2 minutes and 30 seconds to complete both rounds. For its part, the Galaxy S21 Ultra reaches 2 minutes and 40 seconds. At ten second intervals, Apple remains on top of ARM chip developers.

And given that Macs have also joined the party, it’s likely that development in the coming years will accelerate even more. At the end of the day, what’s good for one device will be good for everyone.
