One of the Facebook users decided to describe what happened recently on the platform his iPhone 11 Pro caught fire. The incident occurred today (07/01) at 5 a.m. in Szczecin. That’s when the man smelled burning plastic. Fortunately, it only ended with a slight burn to the hand.

The device was there plugged in for charging overnight. In addition to the Apple smartphone, a pillow and a mattress were also burned. Apparently the phone warmed up while charging, and the mattress and pillow increased this effect. The man admitted in the comments that he used the original charging cube, but the cable was of a different brand.

It is known that electronics can be damaged at the factory, but apart from manufacturing defects, most such scenarios can be avoided. Above all Do not leave the device connected to charging overnight. If we must do this, it is worth making sure that the smartphone is not placed on a soft surface that retains heat, such as a mattress, blanket, quilt or pillow. Instead, it’s better to leave it on the nightstand. It is also worth paying attention to the accessories we use. Due to the high prices of original accessories, many people choose the so-called substitutes. Even in such cases, you should choose a proven brand instead of buying the cheapest ones.
