Iowa Wild lose with Rossi at Chicago Wolves
Vorarlberger loses in the AHL with Iowa Wild at the division leader.
The Iowa Wild lost the first of two away games in the American Hockey League in 24 hours to the Chicago Wolves 3-5. The guest team around Vorarlberg Marco Rossi takes the lead after 42 seconds through Mitchell Chaffe and also makes it 3: 2 through Kyle Rau (22nd) before the Wolves turn the game in the final third with three goals and at 40: 33 shots on goal to get an easy win.
While the division leaders celebrate their 28th win in their 45th game of the season in front of 5,634 fans at Rosemont’s Allstate Arena, northwest of Chicago, the Wild concede their 18th loss in their 44th game. Rossi remains without a scorer point and shot on goal, but notes 14 penalty minutes. Ten minutes before the end, the 20-year-old took on the officials and received a two-minute and a ten-minute disciplinary penalty for insulting the referees. Game two of Wild’s doubles at Wolves follows Monday night.
