iOS 14: faster scanning between pages thanks to small dots

This is the kind of little novelty that will save several seconds of use each day: in iOS 14, you can scroll more quickly through the different pages of its home screen and the Weather app.

Instead of performing a conventional horizontal scan, we can now use the small dots at the bottom of the screen. Just place your finger on it for these points to become active; with a little swipe on them, we go from one page to another.

If you have a lot of pages on your home screen or in Weather, this new method is much faster to navigate from the first to the last page. With a tiny swipe on this element, you can jump from one page to another almost instantly and without tiring your thumb.

The home screen, app folders, and Weather are the only parts of iOS that use these little dots, but developers can integrate them into their apps.

In addition to this new interactivity, this element called UIPageControl now manages an unlimited number of pages. In order not to clutter the bottom of the screen, the number of points remains limited, but the last two are smaller to show that there is a sequence.

In addition, developers can replace the small dots with other icons more suited to their content or functions, such as hearts or bookmarks.
