Klaus-Michael Kühne’s comments in the Volkspark have long been feared – and now it was time again. The billionaire spoke up during the week and sparked further turbulence at Hamburger SV in the middle of the corona crisis. In the ongoing power struggle, a club member of the club could lose his job. And possibly it hits the boss, Bernd Hoffmann.
“I hope so,” said Kuehne to “Zeit” when asked whether there would be a personnel change at HSV in the foreseeable future. The 82-year-old described the friction between Hoffmann and his board colleagues Frank Wettstein (finance) and Jonas Boldt (sports) as “degoutant”, which means disgusting or disgusting.

According to information from the “Hamburger Abendblatt”, the control committee will meet again on Saturday to answer the “crucial question”: “Is there a majority on the Supervisory Board to either dismiss CEO Hoffmann or his colleagues Boldt and Wettstein?”
The “Zoff escalates”, wrote the Hamburg “Morgenpost” about the dispute of the bosses. As so often, it’s about power and hurt vanities. It has long been whispered that Hoffmann and Boldt do not speak a word more than necessary. The atmospheric disturbances are said to have arisen, among other things, through interventions by Hoffmann in Boldt’s area of competence – such as when handling the switch from Douglas Santos to Zenit St. Petersburg.

Since the beginning of his second term at HSV about two years ago, Hoffmann’s stated goal has also been to reduce Kuehne’s financial dependency. There are currently no talks about extending the name sponsorship at the Volksparkstadion. By contrast, Wettstein is said to have a good relationship with the controversial investor.
Most recently, Hoffmann, who was initially not available for the SID to comment, admitted differences with Boldt. It was clear to him that the HSV committed an alpha animal that “will always have its own opinion and also represents it,” said Hoffmann of “Sport Bild”: “And Jonas Boldt was clear that he was not in a diplomatic relationship with me here Corps enters. ” A few days ago, the manager saw the constellation including the betting stone as “sustainable for the coming years”.
