Maradu (Kochi) ∙ The inquest proceedings of Kanjiravel Achamma (71), who died after her son was hacked to death in the Blue Cloud apartment near Thuruthi Temple, were completed yesterday afternoon. A postmortem was conducted at the Ernakulam Govt. Medical College and the body was shifted to the Lakeshore Hospital Mortuary. After the arrival of her daughter Vineeta, who is an Australian citizen, the cremation was held at Champakkara Church. The court remanded the accused’s son Vinod Abraham.

The police have sealed the apartment where the incident took place. The whole room is in a messy state. Home appliances worth lakhs have been destroyed. Including the ceiling fans are bent. Mother’s mobile phone was found fried in a curry pot.

Meanwhile, Municipal Chairman Anthony Ashanparampil and Councilor Sheeja Sankumar demanded that action be taken against Maradu SI who aggravated the incident. City Police Commissioner K.
