Lech Wałęsa, Aleksander Kwaśniewski and Bronisław Komorowski should, like other citizens, use the “standard” pension from ZUS. Only 12 percent. of the respondents is of the opinion that the most important person in the state should receive a special retirement benefit upon termination of his / her function. 4 percent respondents have no opinion on this matter.
The presidential pension is currently 10.5 thousand. zlotys. The benefit is paid after the end of the period for which the remuneration is determined and collected during the term of office. In addition, former presidents and their families can count on health benefits, and the closest heads of state, after his death, can receive a survivor’s pension.
Former presidents can also use the standard benefits from ZUS, which every citizen is entitled to. They include the so-called the thirteenth pensions from the Retirement Plus program, numerous discounts and access to cheaper drugs, and above all, the standard pension from ZUS, which is valued every year.
