Inter Miami Shows Interest in Signing Luis Suarez: Updates on Potential Transfer

In the past transfer window, Inter Miami opened its wallet and brought numerous top stars on board. Another star could soon join Lionel Messi (36)’s team. The coach of Inter Miami has now announced this.

In the summer, Inter Miami strengthened itself with some world stars. After Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba (34) and Sergio Busquets (35) also followed his former teammate from his time at FC Barcelona. Since then they have been shaking up the American MLS together. Another old friend could soon join the trio.

Miami coach: “We will take the appropriate path”

As Miami coach Gerardo Martino (60) announced in a conversation with journalist Franco Panizo, the club is showing great interest in Luis Suarez (36). “If we look at our analysis for next year and our needs, we have a scenario with Luis and without Luis. When he is officially free, we will follow the appropriate path.”

The Americans were said to have been interested in signing Suarez in the last transfer window. Miami club president Jorge Mas said openly at the time: “If he can leave Gremio, we want him.” However, Gremio Porto Alegre did not let the Uruguayan go.

Suarez out of contract in January

Suarez has been under contract with the Brazilians since January 2023, but is now without a contract from January 1, 2024. This means that no transfer fee would be due for David Beckham’s club, just like with Messi, Alba and Busquets.

The quartet had played together at FC Barcelona for years. With the Catalans they celebrated all sorts of titles and experienced great success together. Messi and Suarez are considered close friends. Suarez finally moved on to Atletico Madrid in 2020, from where he moved back to his hometown to his youth club Nacional.

Since moving to Gremio in January, he has made 43 appearances, scoring 18 goals and providing another 13 goals.
