Newsroom/Xalapa. The Integrated Circuits factory, Intel, announced that it will make a considerable investment in the construction of two new chip factories that will be located in Licking County, Ohio (USA). Giving rise to a deployment of the private sector never before seen in the area.
The initial investment is estimated at more than 20 billion dollars and is expected to be a palliative in the face of the shortage of advanced semiconductors, which are essential for the creation of electronic devices such as cell phones or computers. Likewise, an investment of 100 million dollars will be made to promote research and innovation programs.
The construction of these factories will generate 3,000 jobs to operate the company and 7,000 more for construction. Work is expected to begin this year and be completed by 2025.
