Insulting Prophet Muhammad, Indian Politician Sentenced

Two politicians India which is insulting Nabi Muhammad SAW received a suspension from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal are members of the BJP. Sharma served as spokesman, while Jidal was head of media operations.

Both of them hurled words that insulted the Prophet Muhammad. Sharma issued the statement at a televised debate show, while Jidal tweeted it on social media.

Sharma was sanctioned in the form of suspension from the main party membership. Immediately with that, as quoted from AljazeeraJindal was expelled from the party.

Clashes broke out in the Indian state over this behavior. There was even a demonstration that contained a message for the two people to be arrested.

The two men’s words have also sparked outrage on social media in Arab countries that are pushing for boycotts of Indian products, and that India is following in the footsteps of France and China in supporting Islamophobia.

India’s neighbors, such as Pakistan, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, voiced dismay at the controversial statement. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation also condemned the insulting tone.

The BJP has said it respects all religions and denounces insults to the personality of any religion. The BJP is India’s ruling party and is the home party of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sharma and Jindal have denied any insults and feel they are merely responding to comments that have surfaced about Hindu gods.
