After a break of several weeks, Ingo Nommsen reports back to his fans on Instagram. “Corona took me away,” the moderator explains his long absence from social media and describes the corona horror of the past few weeks.

Even fit people like Ingo Nommsen (“Volle Kanne”) can be hit hard by the coronavirus. After a social media break of several weeks, the moderator reports to his fans with a video clip on Instagram. He reports on his Covid 19 illness and issues a warning to everyone not to contract the virus.

Ingo Nommsen suffered badly from Covid-19

Ingo Nommsen says he has had a serious Covid 19 illness. “Corona took me away – almost,” said the 50-year-old in a video on Instagram on Thursday. He has been back on his feet for a good half a week and is now “virus-free”. The illness was really bad: no appetite, headache and body aches, sweats, chills. “The full program, it wasn’t nice”.

The oxygen saturation in Ingo Nommsen’s blood suddenly decreased

A doctor friend of mine provided Nommsen with a device for measuring the oxygen content in the blood, “which is very important with Corona”. The oxygen saturation in Nommsen’s blood “then subsided at some point,” said Nommsen. “And then suddenly the paramedics were standing in front of the door at night and wanted to take me to the hospital,” says the 50-year-old. Fortunately, he felt a little better after all, so that he didn’t have to go to the hospital.

Nommsen’s sense of smell still hasn’t returned

After two weeks the food was tasty again. The sense of smell had suffered a bit and had not returned yet. He advises his fans to keep their distance and says he wants to get vaccinated. “It’s really no fun. Nobody wants Corona, nor should anyone have it.”

In December, after 20 years, Nommsen said goodbye to his audience at the ZDF morning magazine “Volle Kanne”. He can currently be heard on the podcast “Nonstop Nommsen … makes fun”.
