Inflation, price increases in Poland and Europe

According to Eurostat data, inflation in July in Poland amounted to 3.7%. It is only larger in Hungary, where it amounts to 3.9 percent. The podium is closed by the Czech Republic with the index of 3.6 percent.

Prices are not rising in all countries. In Germany, for example, inflation is equal to 0 percentage points, and in eight countries prices are falling. The prices are falling the most in Greece (- 2.1 percentage points), Cyprus (-2 percentage points) and Estonia (-1.3 percentage points).

The average inflation for the entire European Union in July was 0.9 percentage points. In turn, in the case of the euro area, this indicator amounted to 0.4 percentage points, compared to 0.3 percentage points in June.

Eurostat reports that the inflation index was most affected by the increase in the prices of industrial goods (by 0.42 percentage points), as well as food, alcohol and cigarettes (growth by 0.38 percentage points). Energy prices fell (by -0.83 percentage points).
