BBVA Mexico will place more than 30 thousand mortgages in 2021


The housing sector is one of the greatest boosters of the Mexican economy, in view of this situation BBVA Mexico announced that it will invest more than 62 million pesos during 2021, of which 18 billion pesos will be allocated to housing construction through of bridge loans, and in terms of mortgage origination, 44 billion pesos will be granted, which will translate into more than 30 thousand mortgages.

When announcing the bank’s investment for the sector, Eduardo Osuna Osuna, vice president and general manager of BBVA Mexico, highlighted the resilience of the sector, and that even in times of uncertainty it is a triggering branch of the national economy.

On the other hand, during 2020, despite the pandemic, the financial institution originated more than 30,400 mortgages for an amount greater than 44 billion pesos, a year in which its interest rate decreased from 7.90% for clients with payroll in BBVA and pre-approved, and expects rates to continue at historically low levels.

Marisol Nicolás Ocaña, director of the mortgage bank at BBVA México, explained that even in the environment of the pandemic, the bank was able to continue serving customers, which resulted in an origination of more than 30 thousand mortgages for an amount more than 44 billion pesos.
