Every couple must have their own reasons when deciding to divorce or separate. But a man from Uttar Pradesh, India divorced his wife because she didn’t want to take a bath every day.
This ‘magic’ reason was revealed after the wife filed a complaint with the women’s protection agency. Quotes News18, the couple is currently being counseled by Aligarh Women Protection Cell.
“A woman gave us a written complaint alleging that her husband had given her triple talaq on the pretext of not bathing every day. We counseled the couple and their parents to save their marriage,” a counselor who works with Women Protection Cell said.
“The man, during the counseling, repeatedly and emphatically told us that he wanted to end the relationship with the woman. He also applied to us to help him divorce from his wife because he doesn’t shower every day.”
The husband insisted on asking for a divorce because he always quarreled after asking his wife to take a bath.
Different from her husband, the wife expressed her desire to continue the marriage and live happily with her husband.
“We are trying to advise the man not to break up with his wife because it is a minor issue and can be resolved. We are also trying to make him understand that their divorce can also affect their child’s education,” the counselor said.
The couple have been married for two years and have a one-year-old child.
