Increased radiation levels recorded in Estonia

In Estonia, experts recorded isotopes of cesium, cobalt and ruthenium in the air. An increase in the concentration of radioactive particles was reported by the Harku station of radiation control of the Department of the Environment, the portal reports ERR.

According to the adviser to the radiation department of the department Teeta Koytjärve, although the number of isotopes is not very high, however, it is necessary to find out where these particles came from. He explained that such isotopes are not the result of nuclear weapons tests, but are likely to come from a nuclear power plant or a spent fuel company.

Earlier, the news that appeared in the media that the nuclear and radiation safety authorities of Sweden, Norway and Finland recorded an increase in the concentration of radioactive isotopes of the so-called reactor origin in the atmosphere over the territory of Northern Europe earlier became resonant. It was assumed that the isotopes allegedly came from Russia. However, later the Netherlands Institute denied this version.
