In Ukraine, utility rates increased by 35%

Charges for housing and communal services including electricity in June 2021 amounted to UAH 10.4 billion

The arrears of the population in payment for housing and communal services at the end of June amounted to 66.4 billion hryvnia.

Average prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels in Ukraine in July 2021 increased by 0.6%. Over the past year, tariffs have increased by 35.5%. This is evidenced by data State Statistics Service on Monday, August 9.

Thus, tariffs for the maintenance and repair of housing in July increased by 1.4% (over the year – by 6.7%), for water supply – did not change (for the year – increased by 11.0%), for sewerage – did not change ( for the year – increased by 17.5%), for the maintenance of housing and adjacent territories increased by 0.1% (for the year – increased by 3.0%), for electricity – did not change (for the year – increased by 36.6% ), for natural gas increased by 3.3% (for the year – increased by 164.5%), for heating and hot water – did not change (for the year – increased by 13.9%).

In addition, charges for housing and communal services, taking into account electricity, in June 2021 amounted to UAH 10.4 billion. This is 35% more than in June last year (UAH 7.7 billion).

According to the statistics department, in June 2021, the population of the country paid UAH 12.8 billion for housing and communal services (123.1% of the amounts charged for this period).

The debt of the population to pay for housing and communal services at the end of June 2021 amounted to UAH 66.4 billion, which is UAH 2.5 billion less than a month earlier (UAH 68.9 billion).

As of June 30, the debt of the population for the supply and distribution of natural gas amounted to UAH 24.7 billion, for the supply of heat and hot water – UAH 21.5 billion, for the supply and distribution of electricity – UAH 7.1 billion, for centralized water supply and drainage – UAH 6.4 billion, for the management of an apartment building – UAH 5.5 billion, for the provision of services for the removal of household waste – UAH 1.2 billion.

Let us remind you that by the end of the year tariffs will rise in Ukraine for electricity, heating and hot water. This is stated in the National Bank’s Inflation Report for July.

Earlier, the Office of the President admitted that electricity tariffs will change… But there will be no sharp increase in electricity tariffs, and for many there will be none at all, the authorities promise.
